Banana gelato is simple and easy to make. Best of all, it incorporates a fruit that is available almost any time of the year.
Banana Gelato
1/2 pint (250 ml) milk
1/2 pint (250 ml) water
4 ounces (100 grams) of caster sugar
3 bananas
Juice from 1 whole lemon
Heat the sugar and water together in a saucepan until the sugar dissolves and the solution comes to a boil. In a separate container, mash the bananas with the juice from the entire lemon. Stir in the milk and the sugar/water solution that was made earlier. Transfer all the ingredients into the gelato maker and mix/freeze as instructed by manufacturer’s instructions.
